NORTHERN BALTIMORE UNITED

Northern Baltimore United

Northern Baltimore United was created in an effort to provide a top-level soccer experience at an affordable cost for our local community at the 8th grade and high school levels.

NBU is a unique collaboration of Cockeysville FC, Hereford Soccer Club, Lutherville-Timonium Soccer Club, and Towson United. The goal of the club is to provide a player-centric, community atmosphere where decisions for teams are made in the best interest of the players; players are treated with respect by each other, their coaches, and our organization; and families are connected with the team and entire NBU organization.

AGES/GRADES

Who is eligible to tryout for Northern Baltimore United?

All rising 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade players.

Are teams by birth year?

Baltimore United will operate by school year rather than birth year. This will help us keep the NBU teams together through the 8th/9th grade split year and the senior/college split year. Depending on where your birthday falls in the school year, you will either compete in your birth year or one year up.

COACHES

Each team is coached by dedicated professional coaches with the assistance of our Director of Coaching.

LOCATION

NBU practices and home games will be held at our facilities in the Cockeysville area with most activities taking place at County Home Park or Meadowood Regional Park.

SOCCER SEASON

8th grade teams will participate in the Fall/Spring EDP seasons and participate in multiple Fall and Spring Tournaments

High School teams will begin play in October with multiple Fall/Winter Showcase Tournaments. High School teams will also compete in the Spring EDP season and multiple Spring Tournaments.

The final schedule for each team will be determine by the coach, NBU Coaching Director and NBU Board.

OFF-SEASON TRAINING

All NBU teams will have access to an in-depth summer training program and club-wide training sessions.

Winter training will include a 6-week Strength and Conditioning program with our NBU fitness expert and physical therapist, Dr. Zach Mitchell. This program will focus on improving strength, speed, agility and reducing the risk of injury.

NBU FEES

What are NBU's Costs?

Costs will vary by team, with fees averaging around $1500 for the year. NBU fees include all costs associated with fall/spring leagues, tournaments, professional coaching, facility rental, referee costs, coaching education, goalkeeper training, carding, insurance, off-season training, physical therapy access, etc. Uniform costs are not included and are approximately $200 for a full kit with warm-ups.

MULTI-SPORT PLAYERS

NBU intends to offer a multi-sport team at each grade level for those players participating in multiple sports.

Players will be required to disclose their commitment level at the time of registration/try-outs. Our multi-sport teams will offer a more flexible schedule for those players who have multi-sport commitments but with an expectation that players provide a reasonable level of commitment throughout the year as determined by the coach and club.

Goalkeepers

NBU is proud to partner with William Vanzela’s Born to Fly to provide our goalkeepers with the best goalkeeper training in Baltimore!
